Cold Storage Technologies

Jun 20, 2026

Core Refrigeration Technology
The core of cold storage refrigeration involves a cycle of compression, condensation, throttling, and evaporation to remove heat from the storage space and lower the temperature. Different scenarios require tailored solutions; for instance, ultra-low temperature facilities may utilize cascade refrigeration systems to achieve temperatures below -60°C. Additionally, eco-friendly natural refrigerants-such as R290 and CO₂-are increasingly replacing traditional Freon-based refrigerants.

Installation and Construction Techniques
Structure Construction: For modular cold storage units, panel joints must be tightly sealed with specialized sealant to prevent thermal bridging. For civil-engineered (built-in-place) facilities, the floor requires frost-heave prevention measures, such as the installation of insulation layers or heating cables.
System Installation: Following the welding of refrigeration piping, the system must be purged with gas at 0.8 MPa to remove impurities. Pressure testing for leaks is conducted by pressurizing the high-pressure side with nitrogen to 1.8 MPa and the low-pressure side to 1.2 MPa to ensure system integrity.
Commissioning Protocols: Before startup, verify that all valves are fully open. Regulate the evaporation pressure by adjusting the expansion valve opening to achieve the target storage temperature, and finally, complete the acceptance process via a full-load trial run.
